Take advantage of Datacenter and Enterprise licenses

Physical servers nodes (virtual machines hosts) are licensed with Windows Datacenter, System Center Datacenter and SQL Enterprise editions. Although Standard editions are installed by default, Datacenter and Enterprise licenses are included and allows you to:

  • Use any System Center products in Application and SQL servers

  • Run any number of SQL instances or containers in SQL Server

  • Free upgrade to SQL Enterprise edition on request

  • Setup SQL Always-on high available multi-node clusters

Tips and tricks to save your costs
  • Use SQL Server virtual machine for SQL load only. Run System Center or any other appliacation load on separate application servers, which are not covered with SQL licenses and therefore are way far cost-effective.

  • Make CPU benchmarks and use only necessary number of CPUs with appropriate performance

  • Add as much memory as your budget allows, the best is to fit your whole database working set into memory

  • For super-high IO databases, use 30.000 IOPS SSD Tier

Datacenter and security

Ultimate security, Tier III certification and geographically separated disaster recovery sites.
High availability, reliability and disaster recovery
  • High voltage power is supplied by two independent 2x 10MW 22kV power connections. The backup comprises a total of nine 14 MVA diesel generators.

  • Low voltage power provided by nine separate power substations with N+1 configurations. All systems are backed up by separate UPS.

  • Cooling is designed with N+1 on the source as well as the distribution side. All components of the cooling system are redundant and powered from two independent sources of electricity.

  • Disaster recovery site TTC DC 1 - geographically separated locations with 2x 10Gbs redundant southern and northern route.
